The Middle School
Mental Grind

Between ages 11 and 14, talent isn't enough to handle the noise.

This is the window where the attitude creeps in, grades start to slip, and the pressure of club sports starts to feel like a second job. Most young athletes are flying blind, and parents often end up as the nagging coach instead of the support system. We provide the outside voice and professional accountability needed to bridge that gap.

The Junior Success Blueprint

A High-Performance Roadmap Adapted for the Developing Athlete

Our L.I.F.E. Framework (Leadership, Intelligence, Family, Effort) isn't just for college recruits. We’ve built a Junior Edition focused on the specific habits 11-14 year olds need—like sleep, nutrition, and locker room leadership—to build a foundation that lasts long after they leave middle school.

Drew Knuppel: A Collegiate Perspective for the Developing Athlete

Drew just wrapped up his career as a D2 basketball player, but he didn’t build this because he had a perfect ride. He built it because he saw how many talented kids struggle with the weight of the game. He brings the been there, done that energy to the middle school level, acting as the outside voice that young players actually listen to.

Testimonials

“Our son was a standout on the field, but he was completely overwhelmed by the pressure and let his grades slip. Since starting the mentorship program, the shift in his maturity has been incredible. He’s taking ownership of his schedule, his GPA is up, and for the first time, he’s actually prepared for the reality of college sports. It’s the playbook we didn't know he needed.”

John Smith

Parent of a High School Junior

“I was honestly ready to quit. The 'D1 or bust' noise and the constant grind made me lose my love for the game. This program helped me realize that my stats don't define who I am. The mentors here gave me the mental tools to handle a bad game and the discipline to build a life outside of sports. I'm playing better now because I'm actually enjoying it again.”

Ola Hugh

High School Senior / Baseball Athlete

“Our son has always had the talent, but as middle school got more competitive, we started seeing the burnout and the 'attitude' creep in. Since joining the mentorship program, the change in his maturity has been night and day. He’s finally taking ownership of his schoolwork, and he’s learning how to handle a tough loss without letting it ruin his entire week. It’s been the best investment we’ve made in his future.”

FAQ's...

  • Is my athlete too young for mentorship?

    • If they are playing competitive sports and balancing school, they aren’t too young. The ages of 11–14 are the "Golden Window" for building the habits that stick. It’s much easier to build a solid foundation of ownership now than it is to fix deep-seated burnout or academic issues in 11th grade.Does this program work for both male and female athletes

  • What is the "Parent Huddle" exactly?

    • We view parents as the "GMs" of the journey. Once a month, we host a separate session for parents to discuss the "business" side of youth sports—navigating club team drama, choosing the right high school, and understanding how to support your athlete without becoming the "nagging coach."

  • How much of a time commitment is this?

    • We designed this to fit into a busy athlete's schedule. The Junior Huddles are once a month, and the 1-on-1 "Prospect" sessions are a focused 30 minutes. The LIFE Playbook hub is self-paced. We aren't here to add more "work" to their plate; we’re here to give them a plan that makes their current schedule feel easier.

  • Does this work for all sports?

    • Yes. Whether it’s baseball, basketball, soccer, or volleyball, the pressure is the same. The L.I.F.E. Framework focuses on the human behind the jersey. We don't teach them how to swing a bat; we teach them the discipline, mindset, and academic habits required to be a leader in any locker room.

  • Will my kid be working directly with Drew?

    • Drew leads the curriculum and the Junior Huddles. For our 1-on-1 "Prospect" plan, athletes work with our vetted team of mentors who have all played at the collegiate level and been through the exact same grind your athlete is in right now.

  • What if we just have a one-time crisis?

    • If you aren't ready for a monthly plan but need immediate help with a coaching conflict or a sudden loss of confidence, check out our Targeted Solutions section below. You can book a one-off Strategic Session to get a clear plan of attack for your specific situation.

  • How do the academics tie into sports?

    • In middle school, "eligibility" feels far away, but the habits start now. We teach athletes how to treat their GPA like their stats. We show them how to own their schedule and communicate with teachers so that by the time they hit high school, the academic side is on autopilot.
